Rate of entrance to university among the school-leavers supported by Educara Sumé
Unitl 2003, about 1-2 among the 200-300 young people leaving school in Sumé passed the university entrance exam of one of Brazil's public universities. This corresponds to less than 0.5%. One of Educara's goals is it to offer the chance to higher education to more young people. We want more than 50% of our scholarship holders to pass this exam. In other words: compared to the initial situation until 2003, we want to increase the access to unversity by a factor of 100%. Notice that in the years 2000-2003 and 2005, none of our scholarship holders left school.
